Additional Comments / Legend
"L78/L89" differed from "L78" in having aluminum heads, larger valves, a specific Holley carburetor, different transmission, etc.

LF3 (327 CID) was later phased out and the 307 CID V8 was made the 1969's base V8 engine.

L72 (1) : No records show any 1969 Camaro's left the assembly line with this engine. However, it was installed into the COPO (Central Office Production Order) camaro's such as Berger, Motion/Baldwin, Fred Gibb, Dana/Nickey and Yenko Camaro's.

L72 (2) : This engine was originally released for use by Don Yenko's Yenko Sportscars under COPO 9561. Eventually however, other Chevrolet dealers such as Nickey, Berger, Emmert and others were given permission to order this special engine package as well.

ZL1 : This very special engine package was originally released for Fred Gibb Chevrolet under COPO 9560. Only 69 ZL1's (Special engine package), the aluminum-block 427, were installed in COPO 9560 (COPO - Central Office Production Order) Camaro's by the factory.
