i also have the book paul was talking bout. its a good book. I got mine outa classic industries and they have alot of different books. they probably have the one you were talking bout also.

i actually had the same problem a few months ago. like you turn over the key and it jsut buzzes and sometimes you can try a second time and it'll work. mine did the same and i replaced my starter and it hasn't done it since. but maybe some of your connecters are dirty.

the bmw's are so pimp that they probably have little sensors in the headligths that make them brighter or whatever depending on how dark it is. it really wouldn't surprise me if they did thouhg.

i don't really like the whole super white headlights so i just got some halogen ones for like 5 bucks a piece. i know exactly what kinda bmw's you are talking bout man. i hate those. but they are nice cars in the end.

well guys now i'm thinking its gotta be a loose wire or somethings messed up with the temp sensors. cuz when i was replacing my starter last weekend i accidently busted a temp sensor and the replacement i got form advanced autos is entirely different than the original. now my fan works just fine til...

alright i'll try the compression test. but if its a leak inside the engine then how am i supposed to know that? i know my upper hose is fine but i'll check my lower one tonight or sometime this weekend.
does anyone have any other suggestions to what might be making my coolant crap?

exactly man, thats gonna take alot of work to put a 427 in your car so since you'll probably have to replace or upgrade everythign then why don't you at least get a 454 cuz i know those fit in 3rd gens but if you can get the 502. since you're going big block anyways. might as well go all the way.

how would hoses that are leaking cause the coolant to be crap? if the tubes were bad then it'd be just leaking. the last tiem it was overheating i had to replace the upper radiator hose so that one should be fine now but i dont' see how doing a compression test will help find out why its turing brown.
