Where Did You Hear Of Camarosource.ca?: Boobs
With the recent trend of Pontiac bring in product originally designed and used by GM Holden of Australia..

For those of you that Do Not Know
The 5th Gen Camaro is Basically based off of the Holden Monaro Coupe Chassis which is also where the Pontiac GTO came from..

Introducing the New Holden Coupe 60 which now also shares the Monaro/ 5th gen Camaro Chassis...
I can bet you that this is what a Pontiac version of the 5th gen will Resemble..
And I also bet that it WILL NOT BE A FIREBIRD OR TRANS AM
I love the side exit exhaust and think it blows the 5th gen Away IMO..
The concept car has already been shown by GM...

Pontiac G6 ST "Sports Truck" Anyone??? 8O
Rumored to be going through cold weather testing in Europe and the U.S. for a Possible U.S. Release
The Holden UTE SS featuring an 6.0 V8 and based on the same chassis as the other two
This is what I have been holding out for if the thing comes with an LS-3 which is it should because the LS-2 is discontinued now,
then I will be all over this thing but the Coupe 60 has me putting on the brakes..

That truck looks pretty cool. I'd heard about them, but I hadn't seen any of the pictures yet. Chevy should put one as a new "El Camino". That'd be pretty cool. A vehicle that does both kinds of hauling: Hauling the mail, and hauling anything you need in the back.

I was thinking the same thing. It would be cool as a new El Camino.

Yeah, a new El Camino. Then they'd almost have to have a new Chevelle as the car version of it. Like they say history repeats itself. I guess their right.

Actually it has been proposed before with the UTE being brought over and being renamed an El camino..
There has been a whole fan base in the U.S. waiting for this little truck since the SSR debuted...
B
ut then GM decided on the stupid Idea of doing the SSR which also originally started as an El Camino revamp..

I won't say you 100% will not see the UTE as a Chevy...
But, as you can see with it's styling it is more suited and fits into the Pontiac Line-up just by the look of the vehicle
which is where the whole Pontiac line-up has been taking all off their designs from GM Holden which is the Most sucessful car company in Australia and a few other countries where that Name brand can be bought...

However one of the reason's that they are being brought over has to do with the fact that GM Holden being the top company in those countries, but their Market has leveld off and all of the demands have been filled for the Vehicles..
So in order for the Holden Plants to keep its workers and stay busy building Vehicles they are just going to export them over here..
Which if you look at it this way, other than the Exporting fee's for bringing them over here..
There is no Design and build cost to Gm because they are ALREADY BEING BUILT...
So they slap some Pontiac logo's on them, restyle them a tiny bit along with making them comply to U.S. D.OT. requirements and put them out to the market just like they did with the GTO which was originally a Holden Manaro...
In turn they only have to sell small amounts and at the same time Keep the Holden plants busy..

The UTE is originally an Australian work truck just like all of us in the U.S. use Silverado's, GMC's, Ford f150's ect..
In every country but ours people prefer smaller vehicles which is why the truck is smaller to fit the demands of those countries..

Either way I am waiting for these, if the UTE has or gets the LS-3 it will lay down some serious butt whooping's to some Mustangs, Chargers and possibly the heavier 5th gen

Yeah, it does look more like like a Pontiac, but if they changed some of the body panels, then they could offer it as a Chevy as well. It would be a cool vehicle, as long as they don't go back to the whole SSR idea, which sucked. There's just something about a convertible truck "thing" that makes me want to puke. It completely defies everything about a truck. A friend of mine said he wouldn't care to have a new SSR, but I told him A.) they don't make them anymore, and B.) you could buy a used base Corvette for about the same money. So, for me it all boils down to this, what would look better and SSR or a 'Vette, and I would have to say the CORVETTE.
