I was hoping to not have to ask this but I'm running into a dilemma and so I am sending out this message for the heck of it really, to see if perhaps anyone could offer some support.

As you may or may not have known, I have been working tirelessly for over a year working on a brand new Camarosource.ca website creating everything from scratch. All new message board with calm, relaxing colors, and some Very nice features such as offering over 2,000,000 car parts purchasable online, along with what I believe will hopefully be the favorite; Our NEW Camaro yearly Information Database.

Our custom made script started off at $450 and through MANY changes, has grown to $1,600us

This new database contains literally EVERY single Camaro combination trim available (Model, Engine, Transmission, rear end, car type, and specific model requirements) which totals over 3,000 trim models, as well as color combination charts, decoders, spotter's guide, model comparison lists, full standard and optional accessories, related links, and MUCH more!

Unfortunately due to a recent repair on the car, I'm getting into debt and need to make some more changes to pay our programmer to make some more changes because the database is getting far too large and needs to be split up a bit more to make it as user friendly as possible. Unfortunately I'm now looking at another $500 due to the complex-ability of this script.

As a result, I am asking if ANYONE would be willing to help out financially.. no amount too small. Anything would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Paul - you know I help whenever I can, but this time it's just not possible. As of May 1st the business I opened is two years old and I haven't yet been able to take a paycheck or hire help that isn't absolutely necessary. The economy even in the area of State Senators, Congressmen/women and Lobbiests has taken a huge bite out of our local economy -- and I thought the Washington DC area could never be hit by the economic downturns. Not a great time to have a new business, but it's the burden I picked for myself and I'm still working on making it successful. I wish you the best and think you should extend this to all members -- I belong to another site that asks for donations every two months via an automatic message at log in. It's not a bad thing.

True.. But personally I don't think I would want to be "pressured" to donate which is why I don't try and rely on donations nor like to ask for them. Last time I mentioned it, was quite a while ago.. I believe last year?

But yes, the financial econemy is unbelievably horrible and I don't see it getting any better. It makes it even harder to run a website. Many people don't realize that running an actual "website" as apposed to a hobby site (much smaller) costs over $1000 a year for hosting.. No $5/month hosting here

It's not pressured -- it's just there every two months. You can click to donate or click to get to the website, it's simply a reminder that it costs money to run and support the site, you're using it and donations are accepted. That's it. I've never once felt compelled to donate unless I wanted to. It's just an option.

Looks really good. I've been a member for ages so I feel I should definitely send you come cash! On it's way......

Thanks so very much everyone. My plan is to have an active Classifieds, Photo Gallery and Product Reviews on the site as well.

UPDATE: New website is still in progress. I hoped to have it all up at running by the summer but due to lack of funds, it's really becoming a challenge to uphold the costs involved in this new site.

Donations are still sincerely appreciated as they are going straight to this new site to get it up and running as soon as possible. Total cost so far that I've put into the new site is in the neighborhood of $3000us.

Currently the new site has Over 2,500 Camaro Variation trims (Literally every factory combination order-able)
and over 2,500 Standard and Optional features.

The new website has an automated Camaro Gallery, Product Review and Classifieds as well as over 2,000,000 car parts available. Not to mention a 100% completely new message board and much much more; can't give away all the surprises

I still need to fund at least another $1000us on programming and customizing before the site can go online. Till then, unfortuntely it might be a while as I can only rely on monthly advertising which doesn't really pay much towards that.

Anyways, just wanted to send a message to update you all.

Like anything else, programming, website design, it all based on a per hour basis. The database consists of 100's of pages of coding (PHP, Javascript, Java, MYSQL, CSS) right now. Adding new and better features can require a change of structure to implement.

It wasn't much but i just donated,,,,,, money is tight for me right now, but I had a bit of change just sitting in the paypal that wasnt getting used.
You'd be surprised how much we could all help out if we each sent 5bucks or so, heck even if 300 ppl sent 2 dollars?? Ive given more to crappier causes... and normally that money goes to something you can not benefit from, this doesn't.

I am working long and hard each and everyday with whatever spare time I get to work on the new site. With over 3,500 Camaro Trim Variations so far with more to go the new database is getting quite large. I also have an automated Classifieds, Camaro Gallery, and Product Reviews that I am in the middle of designing a theme for.
