Its too bad. I think they just never perfected how to do it. The japanese have been wildly successful using duplicates. The camry gets upgraded and becomes your lexus 300. Your civic gets upgraded and becomes your acura integra. Your nissan sentra gets upgraded and becomes your infiniti G20. The old school way that GM did it was making straight up clones of the same car. Most of which sucked badly except for the camaro/firebird. While I always liked the camaro, these twins were like the exception, the firebird/trans am had a look all their own and I liked them too

Where Did You Hear Of Camarosource.ca?: Surfing
Cool Firebird pic. I like the "old-school" wheels and it even has the hoodie-tach! Awesome photoshop, now they need to build it!

Yeah that Firebird shot is definitely Photoshop'd. I doubt GM is even considering bringing the Firebird back.

But if I blur my eyes while looking at the t-tops in that pic (to make it look more realistic,) it looks REALLY good on the new Camaro Concept methinks. I really hope they aren't skipping the t-tops to make it "more like a '69."

i the color of the camaro in the pics on the first page actually make it look nice. The red just doesn't do it any justice.

Wow I like the firebird pics a lot better than the camaro. The camaro needs to get rid of the groves on the quarter or make the bottom smooth near the bottom ,the way it looks now looks like a mustang. The last firebird pic should be what the GTO should look like.

i like the hood on that 2nd firebird pic (the 1st silver one) and i kinda like the slots on the rear quarter on the camaro, it brings it back to the 60's alittle

Kudos to the design team. I think they hit the nail right on the head. It has the muscular curves which you don't see on the flat topped fender 05 Mustang. The Challenger looks good but they didn't take it any further than 1970, it might as well have been NOS. As for the taillights, didn't the 70-73 Camaros have four independent tail lights?

Oh, also, I think it was Popular Mechanics that showed a redesigned GTO scheduled 2008(?) It looked almost exactly like that second Firebird concept which is a relief, after these beefy Grand Ams. :P

I think the slots would look better if the area under them was more like the 69 rather then the hard angle they have in the pic,it makes it look like more like a mustang that way.

the only explanation is...
the 05 mustang is modeled after the 69
the 09 camaro is modeled after the 69

problem is the early camaros were modeled after mustangs :D
