From the talk of the value, are you planning on selling it? I guess with something like this you have to keep the option of selling open, for something worth that much money. I never understood, since I don't think I'd get over $2000 combined for both my vehicles, so I never see the sense in selling.

Not at all. I plan to keep in indefinitely. Someone had suggested earlier that I get it appraised, so I did...

I plan to drive it occasionally on weekends and back and forth to work (20 miles) maybe once a month to keep the miles down... 8)

I Just got the appraisal done and it came out to $10,700...

I'm wondering if I submit this to my insurance will they raise my rate. Right now it's pretty darn low...

Darn, I was off by $2000! But I'm glad it's because it came back higher!

My rates hardly budged. Here's likely why . . .
Make sure that you get the contract (usually called the 19 or 19A clause) that states that they must pay you appraised value if she gets written off (god forbid). Book value is typically WAY lower. The trade is that if their investigators/adjusters decide it's worth more, you will only get the apprasied value (there's always a trade off). BUT, how often does that happen!!!!
Just be sure to get her re-appraised at least every two years to reflect changing market values.

Another option is to check out "collector" car insurance companies.

Again. VERY SWEET RIDE!!!!
