As you may know, I crashed my 'Maro not to long ago and need to replace the headlights. I like the look of the black headlights that the halos offer, but think that the actual halo is really distasteful. Is there any other headlight I could get to achieve this effect? I know of the "Whistler Mod" but I'm just not too sure of putting my brand new headlights in the oven and cracking them open...

I'm considering buying the halos and then not wiring the actual halo, so I just get the actual headlights. My only problem with this, is it seems like the halo is what I'm paying for and I'm not even going to use it.

Any suggestions?

EEWWWWW HALO's
I agree they are very distasteful and belong on rice...

The problem with using them and not hookinh up the Halo is the Halo ring blocks part of the actual beam of the headlight..
So your headlight output isnt as good..

Besides the whistler mode I have seen actual Non halo headlights with the black interior..
I saw a few while back on Ebay which I haven't seen in a long time
And I was on a online shop that had them but I can't remember what the site was..
I was actually looking for them today possibly for my own car if I find them I'll post up where I located them..
I just want to look into the quality of the actual headlight because alot of those cheap headlights fog up when dam or wet..

Interesting, I didn't know not hooking them up would effect the headlights. I actually did find these http://www.procarparts.com/store-detail.asp?sku=CV93CM%2D11968HLX&dbname=onlinestoreDB
I just have a feeling that they won't be in stock any time soon.

Dam man those are it..
Sucks they are out of stock but I have seen them on ebay from time to time..
Lately I have been hunting them down to possibly get for my car..

The problem with the Halo headlights has nothing to do with using the halo or not..
But it is the design and placement of the Halo ring.. It restricts the Headlight beam affecting the over all light projected out in front of the car..

Where Did You Hear Of Camarosource.ca?: Surfing
Here's a link to a member named Zigma that put Halo's on his 4th gen.
Unfortunitly the ebay link has expired.

His used the stock low & high beams.

Here's another link. He got quite a few compliments. It sucks the pics don't work anymore. :(

"Those are not expected to be in anytime soon the manufacture is currently on back order for another 1-2 months but no guarantee."

Puts me in a bit of a dilemma.... :|

I have seen the halo lights on a BMW a couple of weeks ago on a dark stretch of highway and I thought you could get better light using a flashlight strapped to the hood of the car. I am not impressed with them as they only illuminated the sides of the road; but that is my opinion.

Not to confuse, I don't actually want halos. I actually really dislike them. I just want to find headlights that are blacked out like they are as I like the styling much more than the stock reflective.
