I need a 97 Camaro SS fuel throttle cable. The car has cruise but no traction control. Ripped it clean from the throttle body linkage while doing a burn out at the Woodward Cruise. Way cool.

My guess would be to call your local dealer, and see if they can get you one. How in the world did you manage to do that anyway?

Just got on it and power shifted into second and ripped the nib off the end at the throttle. The dealers do not have it and cannot get it. No jobbers have it. Murrays and autozone etc do not have it. It looks like a bike brake cable end but smaller. For all intent, it is not repairable.

Where Did You Hear Of Camarosource.ca?: Abob visited me in a dream and told me about it.
What we have done in the past is buy the screw on nipples you get from an engineering supplies store.

Something like this:

My best idea would be to try looking at junk yards to see if they have any. Also will any LT1 4th Gen. cable work or does it have to be a '97? The reason for asking is because if you run across another cable for a different year model it could possibly work too. Good luck.

This part in will cost me $50 bucks in Canada from a dealer. they will not guarantee it will fit as it comes out 94-96. She thinks it will as it does list as no traction control. Are you certain this will fit a 97 LT1 without trac control. They will not refund me fully if not. Not being cheap, just don't want to order parts that don't fit via special order.

I dont see why it shouldnt or wouldnt fit..
The only set-up that would be different with the 93-97 Lt-1's would be the 1993 Lt-1 which had a different throttle body because the automatic for that year was only a 4L60 and the 4L60 used a TV Cable on the throttle body for the transmission..

That is your only choice unless you want to upgrade to a Lokar stainless steel throttle cable which requires an adapter bracket between the bracket and cable will cost around $100..
You can do a net search for those set-ups
The plastic tab's that hold the cable to the throttle bracket are starting to bend on mine that is what I am replacing mine with on my LS1..

Here is the Lokar versions this is the cheapest price I have found for them LS1 wise..
But the site has the LT1/LT4 cables and brackets also..
Check out how much more secure they fasten to the throttle bodys..
