I have a chance to get a 3-71 (or 453 sized? he doesnt know) blower for $50. Is there any way I could get it onto a 1986 2.8?

Hmm, that would be interesting.
Maybe machine the top surface of the plenum so it is flat, then cut a hole and bolt it on (after drilling/tapping of course). Then remove the TB and bolt on a block-off plate. Does the blower use a carb on top or what? ![]() ![]() '86 IROC-Z 350tpi with some stuff, T56 six speed '85 IROC-Z 305tpi, rare silver, project '84 Z-28... the spare parts project |

![]() ![]() Thats it, not quite sure how it works as I have never worked with one before. I'm just getting a good deal and figure it could be used on my little 2.8 for a bit of power |

Looks like it is not a complete unit, unless some parts are not pictured. I bet it could be done with some time, a little money, and a lot of good 'ol ingenuity. Oh, and a hole in the hood too
![]() If it were me and the car was not a current daily driver, I'd give it a shot. Worst case, you lose a stock flat hood, a plenum, and maybe a garden variety 2.8 Good luck! ![]() ![]() '86 IROC-Z 350tpi with some stuff, T56 six speed '85 IROC-Z 305tpi, rare silver, project '84 Z-28... the spare parts project |

Yeah, Im kinda glad I wasnt around for this douchbag question.
I cant believe everyone encouraged this. The only answer to it should have been (after the laughter) WHY? |
