Ok built a 383 stroker all the goodies lt4 heads lt4 intake 1.6 rr. Comp Cam 07-503-8 comp cam long tubes slp loud mouth, tuned ect ect ect. all the goodies.

Problem being, it still sounds "to me" that it has close to a stock idle as in not lopy. I have even lowerd the idle to 725 and still seems to have the same stock idle sound. I even "youtubed" that cam and my car seems to sounds nothing like the ones i saw/heard

Dont know what the deal is and not that big of a deal just curious to see if anyone knew what might be up she still hauls though !

that is a small cam.. a 114 LSA is not choppy at all... dunno if they offer that in a 112 but that is what you would have wanted if you wanted a choppy idle...

Still a small cam not that is a bad thing you do not really get into that clickety clack thump until both durations are in the 230's...

A lot of the clips I just listened to on you tube was untuned for that cam.. so it was already f'd...
I only heard one that was what I would call loopy ...

I forgot it also matters what your engine timing and idle speed is at... lowering those will give it more loop, especially if it has more than it currently needs...

Ok went into my timing table and idle timing tables and had to set it all the way to 0 at idle speed and map reading just to get the "lope". It seems weird that those cars would be so lopy with stock tunes, and mine not. But at stock it wanted like 30+ degrees of timing at idle, I switched it back to my regular 383 tune, even though i dont think it would hurt anything to have that much timing taken out at only idle.

Yeh It is only a table for for Closed tps spark advance.. when the throttle is closed idling or decelerating..
It does not affect anything else in the other tables for running the car..

To mess with it properly there is Decelerating Fuel Cut Off table that has to messed with also, But then you are messing with Air/fuel ratios and should use a Wide Band to read it because you cant fully trust the O2 sensors to be reading things correctly...
Especially with Certain cam shaft overlaps that will suck fresh air into the exhaust making them read lean anyways..

So i talked to Solomon over at lt1pcmtuning and ran it by him. He said that with 0* timing at idle, it will be very inificiant, and also screw with mpg, very slightly i would imagine. He aslo said that it could foul the plugs. Im just curious, as to why even if i put my car to 20* timing at idle, it still sounds like a stock idle with a completely different cam, and others have a more choppy idle, it just doesnt make sense.
