What does the 4 digit engine block number on the FRONT, PASSENGER side pad of the block refer to?

Where Did You Hear Of Camarosource.ca?: Boobs
It is the build date but it should be 1 letter and 3 #'s
the letter represents the month as in A is 1 which means Jan, B Feb, C March, D April, C May ect, ect..
second 2 #'s is day and last # is the year..

The 3 numbers on the cylinder head represent the last 3 #'s of the Gm part # for that cylinder head..
