I have often wondered why this is because people at school who have these cars think that thier 281cid, or whatever that thing is, is so bad to the bone. I mean just this past week I heared of one of these people wanting to jump on a 2002 LS1 Camaro with headers and dual Flowmaster's. How crazy is this? I mean the people that where telling me about this ask me what I thought since I know Camaro's better than they do. So I told them that the LS1 would walk all over the 4.6L. Those ford fanatics thought I was crazy. I told them, in reply, that the LS1 had 1 horse power per cubic inch, and with headers and dual exhaust that figure would probably increase some, they became worried. Just for the record the mustang is a 1995 or 1996 with a stock 2002 engine in it, and it's a convertible, which adds weight to the car. Any way I was just wondering if any one else had heard of stupid stuff like this.

I find that this is due to the fact that mustangs are faster than your average car. I'm talking like a camry or civic. So they compare these new cars that they get to your average car. You said they were in school so I'm assuming their young and havn't seen many truly fast cars. They've never driven an LS1 so how are they gonna compare. They assume that an LS1 is like meeting a minivan at a stoplight. Then they race the LS1. Then they shut up.

I thought people saw these idiots the same way I do. So far the guy with the mustang has not raced the LS1 Camaro. He has been telling his budies he is still going to do more "upgrades" to his car. I never knew you could make junk better! Any way I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks like this.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot about something. I know for sure that there is at least one Camaro that would beat that mustang. That car jsut happens to a friend of my dad's '69 Camaro drag car. I have personally saw this car, and would probably say it is the badest car in town. There's just something about the sound of a built big block with open headers!! This is probably a bad comparison, but the guy with the mustang is just stupid enough to try it. Man that it would be great to see him get put in his place.

That's the problem he thinks the car is more than it is. What be down was take his '96 4.6L out and put an barely broke in '02 4.6L. Yeah I'll agree that the new 4.6 has 300 horses, but doesn'y the new 5.3 in the SS Impala and SS Monte Carlo have 303? In addition the LS2 & LS7 both have more power than the 4.6. I believe they have 400 & 505 horses. Any way if we can get our friends at Chevy to put these engines (5.3, LS2, & LS7) in the new Camaro, then the performance car world will have to stand up and take notice that the KING has returned. So look out ford freaks the Camaro is about to reclaim it's place at the top of the Pony Car Market. In closing don't crush Camaros, crush them stupid, ignorent import cars with them stupid bumblebee mufflers!!!!!

I drove a 05 GT and a 02 SS within a few days of each other. The SS has 20 more horsepower, but the 4.6 was seriously a joke when compared with the LS1.

This is true Camaro owners are more mature than a mustang owner for sure. Besides the mustang probably would not be what it is with out the competition the Camaro. I mean ford would have probably never put a big block in the mustang if Chevy didn't put the 396 in the Camaro. Any way I really like the mustangs are junk bit, that's SWEET!!!!

Hey, I like Mustangs! I like all muscle cars, but that's just me. Can't we all just get along. Would it be any different if another Camaro owner said he wanted to race your Camaro? There will always be a mine is better than, faster than, stronger than yours... 8O

Pulling out of the parking lot today, a mustang comes up behind me and just gives me the finger and holds it for I kid you not over a minute. Now, I don't think I did anything to piss him off, maybe I did, but I have no clue what. He then precedes to follow me driving right along side of me just starring at me. He didn't rev or say anything. I asked what he wanted, and he just kept starring. I just rolled me eyes and kept going.

I'm going to ask him what the hell is problem was next time I see him which actually seems quite frequent.

I am applying my experience to all Mustang owners

RSCAMAROGUY91 I think Marko was being sarcastic in his comment seeing as he drives Mustangs now...but maybe I'm wrong.

Heh, its usually the other way around for me, I give the rustangs, pusstangs and ricers the finger all the time... even in my SLOW car lol! I never liked mustangs and I never will just because of the crowd that those cars are involved in...

Mis-informed and immature drivers, they all bloat nubers and think that Ford is the best at everything, but we need to remind them that overall more than 70% of all mustangs are v6 POS's.

But comparing all communities I have been involved with, B-Body websites have one of the most knowledgable and helpful members I have ever met.

Yes, there was a hint of sarcasim there! But really to me all this is just showboating just like the Mustang guys. Im in my early 40's, Im past all that crap now. I hear all the bullpucky from both sides and I quite honestly think it is a sad joke. Im happy with what I have going on in my life right now. I really like this site, that is why I came back. Im a car nut just like Ford girl gone great. I will own a Camaro again, that is for sure. Prolly a
4th gen this time with a 350. Im not here to brag about my Stangs and I don't. But some of the comments here I feel lack better judgement. What Im trying to say is " They are just cars". I have a Harly Davidson! Does that make me a biker idiot also?
